Groceries delivered – A Frankfurt perspective

With the coronavirus lockdown still partially in force, many people – especially if one does not speak German – are wondering how to get food delivered. So we took up this special topic for a Blogpost here at Startuprad.io. You will find a list of food and drink delivery services active in the Rhine-Main area. We are aware this list is not exhaustive. If you feel we missed your preference service or even your own little company, let us know in the comments. Thank you for the input Frankfurt Valley and HalloFrankfurt.de

Upfront: Most people would look for Amazon Fresh for Groceries, but they are not available in the Rhine-Main area. They tried it out but shut down the service here.

Frankfurt

Local food (delivery)

  • First the important stuff: Coffee: There is a Frankfurt-based online shop for it, called Roastmarket https://www.roastmarket.de/
  • As far as we know the only plastic-free online store is offered by Frankfurt-based food startup Grammgenau https://shop.grammgenau.de/ If you ever get the chance stop by their cafe, they are located near Leipziger Straße – Bockenheimer Warte
  • Querbeet (delivers organic food) https://www.querbeet.de/ – Note they will deliver only on certain days according to their delivery schedule.
  • Venos is a local story in Bockenheim with amazing seafood, they even have lobsters. They also have an amazing collection of Italian food like noodles, sauces and everything even an Italian restaurant would need https://www.venos.de/de/ Note: They are not the cheapest, but if you want to give yourself or your family a treat … 🙂
  • Lebegesund https://www.lebegesund.de/ The service mails food, but it is ökozertifiziert, so all foods are organic. Headquartered is the company close to Würzburg in a small town.
  • MyHamsterkauf https://www.myhamsterkauf.de/ Is a company based in Frankfurt, which is a very recent project due to Coronavirus.
Special note: They also have a Ramadan section: https://www.myhamsterkauf.de/collections/ramadan
  • Update on May 26th: There is a wine taxi in Wiesbaden, delivering wine from local vineyards. https://www.weintaxiwiesbaden.de/
