Entity Profile
Overview
homefully was a Frankfurt-based proptech company that offered furnished, flexible-term co-living apartments, mainly to young professionals and international newcomers, in Germany and Switzerland. According to Habyt it was founded in 2016 by Sebastian Wuerz and Bastian Schätzle, and Startuprad.io's April 2021 interview with Würz describes a business that grew from a side project into a full-time company with Zurich as its first international hub. On 2 June 2021 the Berlin-based co-living platform Habyt announced that it had acquired homefully, adding about 1,000 units and taking Habyt past 5,000 units in total. The homefully web address now redirects to Habyt, so this record treats homefully as a historical brand rather than an operating company.
Why this entity matters
homefully is a compact example of the consolidation that reshaped the European co-living sector in 2021. Tech.eu described the deal as Habyt's third acquisition in six months, and Habyt's press release quotes homefully's founder as saying that the co-living market was entering a consolidation phase. For DACH founders and investors it shows how a small proptech with an early institutional backer could reach an exit by combining with a larger platform instead of raising alone.
The interview also documents an asset-light variant of the model. Würz described a "committed capital" approach in which a real estate partner contributes the property while homefully contributes technology and operations, alongside the more common route of leasing existing inventory. That distinction between owning, leasing and operating housing is still central to how investors assess flexible-living businesses.
Company or institutional background
Founding and model. Habyt's press release names Sebastian Wuerz and Bastian Schätzle as the founders in 2016. In the April 2021 interview Würz said he started homefully after finding few furnished rentals when he returned to Frankfurt after studies and early career stations in finance and consulting, and that it began as a side business before he went full-time. The company leased existing inventory and also worked with institutional investors and developers on new projects.
Customers and stays. Würz said roughly half of the tenants were international, that typical customers were in their early 20s to early 30s, that the minimum stay was three months with no maximum, and that applications and identity verification were handled online without a property visit. These are statements from the interview and are not independently verified.
Locations and plans. Zurich was described as the first international hub. The interview named the seven largest German cities as targets and mentioned Paris, Barcelona and Madrid as possible later markets.
Funding. Würz said the company was bootstrapped for about two years, raised a first round from HV Capital in early 2018 and planned a mixed debt and equity round in 2021. None of the other sources reviewed corroborates the 2018 round, so it is not independently verified.
The acquisition. Habyt announced on 2 June 2021 that it had acquired homefully while closing a EUR 20 million Series B. Habyt describes the round as led by HV Capital with Vorwerk Ventures, P101, Picus Capital and Inveready; Tech.eu lists the participants without naming a lead. The acquisition terms were not disclosed.
Role in the ecosystem
homefully operated in the flexible-living segment of DACH proptech, between traditional furnished-apartment providers and larger co-living platforms. Its focus on Frankfurt and Zurich, with a plan for other large German cities, placed it among the smaller regional operators that Habyt absorbed to reach scale during 2020 and 2021.
Selected relationships and affiliations
Publicly reported relationships include Sebastian Wuerz, founder and chief executive; Bastian Schätzle, named by Habyt as co-founder; Habyt, the acquirer, founded in 2017 by Luca Bovone according to Tech.eu; and HV Capital, named in the interview as an early investor and listed by Habyt among the participants of its 2021 Series B. These relationships are listed as reported by third parties and are not a verified ownership or capitalization table.
Startuprad.io relevance
Startuprad.io interviewed Sebastian Würz in April 2021, and that post is the only coverage listed here. It carries an update noting that Habyt acquired homefully, announced on 2 June 2021, and a correction clarifying that SleevesUp!, a company mentioned in the conversation, is a co-working provider rather than a co-living one. A separate branded-content guide carries the homefully tag but does not discuss the company in its text, so it is not listed as coverage. Because only one article qualifies, this record carries a below-target coverage flag.
Public source context

Operating figures come from the founder interview and are not independently verified. This record presents only publicly reported business facts.
