Obituary Christian Hoppe

Sorry, this is a very short and very sad post.

We learned today, that one of our first guests from October 2014, passed away just 44 years old. Christian Hoppe has been one of the important early figures here in the local and national fintech scene. He helped to connect the newly disruptive fintechs with the banks. He also headed main incubator, the early-stage VC, and incubator for one of Germany’s largest banks. The “Between the Towers” events of main incubator, he hosted, have been an early meeting place and we attended them on a regular basis. In his last position, he was the Co-General Manager of the Silicon Valley Bank Germany, here in Frankfurt.

Christian has been fighting a serious illness for some time, but unfortunately lost the fight this August. We are all sad that he had to leave so early.
